Rasuwagadhi-Kerong road to open by tomorrow

At the request of the Nepali side, China had sent a road repairing and rescue detachment from the Armed Police Forces to open the road connecting Kathmandu to the Kerong Port in China.

The road was severely damaged in the April 25 massive earthquake and the powerful aftershock on May 12.

Likewise, the Chinese side is also working to help restore the Araniko highway linking Kathmandu to Khasa, according to spokesperson at the Embassy of China in Kathmandu Ji Guangli. The highway also suffered damages in the May 12 aftershock.

3rd batch of relief

Meanwhile, the Chinese government is sending third batch of relief aid to assist the Nepali government in response to the secondary disasters ensued by the earthquakes.

The relief aid includes tarpaulins, tents and family health kits worth 12.9 million US dollars, according to the Embassy. The goods would be transported soon to Kathmandu at the initiative of the Commercial Ministry of China.

Likewise, China will also donate 5,000 ‘Family Relief Box’ to Nepal through the Chinese Red Cross Foundation. The family relief box comprises blankets, damp roof mat, sleeping bags, raincoats, clothes, tableware, personal care products.
