Horror: The severed head was found outside Fayrouz Lounge
A severed head has been found in a box left outside a cafe in Amsterdam.
The gruesome discovery was made outside Fayrouz Lounge close to the city's popular Vondelpark this morning.
Police are investigating whether it is linked to the discovery of a decapitated body which was found in a burnt-out car on the edge of the city yesterday.
Local media reports the box was placed on its side and the head was positioned so it looked in through the windows of the shisha cafe.
The headless body was identified as 23-year-old Nabil Amzieb - a man detectives confirmed was "known to police".
The Telegraaf reported the man is believed to be part of the Dutch capital's Moroccan mafia.
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone who may have information over the deceased man.
