A shootout is ongoing in the Belgian capital Brussels following an anti-terror raid believed to be connected to the Paris attacks.
Two men armed with Kalashnikovs opened fire on officers when they arrived at the property in Rue du Dries in the Forest district this afternoon.
The suspects were seen fleeing via rooftops and are now holed up in a building surrounded by police, according to reports.
At least three Belgian police officers have been injured.
The area remains cordoned off as local and federal police are on site.
Eric Van der Sypt, spokesman for the Belgium federal police, said: "The assailants fired at police. One officer has been hit in the head."
Mr Van der Sypt added: "The raid was carried out in connection with last year’s attacks in Paris."
A police helicopter is hovering overhead and as snipers have the building surrounded.
Witnesses reported hearing two episodes of gunfire at around 3pm and 3.20pm local time.
The anti-terror raid is believed to be related to the Paris terror attacks which left 130 people dead.
Some of the killers, who included suicide bombers, came from Belgium, where they stored arms and ammunition.
Among them was Salah Abdeslam, who is said to have fled to Brussels after the attacks, before completely disappearing.
Abdeslam, 26, who is believed to have played a key logistical role in the attacks, fled across the border to Belgium hours after the November 13 killings and is now one of the most wanted men in Europe.
