Chilling video shows two female militants waving guns in broad daylight during Istanbul police station attack

This is the horrifying moment two female militants brandishing weapons took to the streets during a gun and grenade attack on a police station.

The attack, which took place this morning in the Bayrampasa district of Istanbul, saw no casualties.

However the two women are now trapped inside a building as armed police gather outside in a standoff with the militants.During the attack, one of the women threw a grenade and the other opened fire with what appeared to be a machine gun.

Police returned fire, injuring one of the women, before tracking them to a nearby building.

Special forces units have been sent to the area and residents were evacuated as security forces prepared to carry out an operation.
