Horror moment 'one-punch' doctor kills drunk patient with single blow caught on CCTV as he is jailed for nine years

A Russian doctor who killed a drunk patient with a single punch has been sentenced to nine years in prison.

Ilya Zelendinov, who worked at a hospital in the southern Russian city of Belgorod, was caught on CCTV striking 57-year-old patient Yevgeny Vakhtin after the victim allegedly kicked a nurse.

Vakhtin was admitted to the hospital with a gastric haemorrhage after a heavy drinking session on December 29, 2015.

CCTV footage shows the 32-year-old doctor rush into the treatment room and drag shirtless Vakhtin from his seat, reportedly shouting: "Why did you touch my nurse?"

The video shows the doctor dragging the patient off the bed and out of the room. He then beats up another unidentified man who tries to intervene.
