Rock legend Bruce Springsteen will explain his rise to fame and the struggles behind his songs in a memoir to be released in September.The book will be entitled “Born to Run,” named after Springsteen’s 1975 song that both marked his rise to fame and lyrically explained his drive to get out of his home in Freehold, New Jersey.The publisher, Simon and Schuster, said that Springsteen would tell stories behind the songs for the first time and show “why the song ‘Born to Run’ reveals more than we previously realized.”The memoir will relate the “poetry, danger and darkness” of his youth in Freehold and his “relentless drive” to become a musician as he started playing at a bar in nearby Asbury Park, the publisher said.’”Writing about yourself is a funny business,” Springsteen, 66, said in a statement.The book will be released September 27 in 14 countries, with editions in French, German and Spanish.The New York Post said that Springsteen received a $10 million advance for the book. Simon and Schuster did not comment.
